From Your Disaster Relief Team, what does it all mean for Florida?
At 8:00 PM (Tuesday Night) Tropical Storm Chantal is currently located several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands, which will put this Tropical Storm near The Dominican Republic on Wednesday. Chantal has winds of near 50 mph with higher gust and will strengthen over the next 48 hours.
Most current models show Tropical Storm Chantal being over The Dominican Republic on Thursday, turning slightly north northwest and moving toward the east coast of Florida, however this track is very unstable at this point. If you do not have a Hurricane Plan, now is the time to form one. TS Chantal has the potential to impact Florida in some by the coming weekend. Please stay tuned for further up dates.
